My Review

Zom-B Gladiator is the 6th instalment in the fantastic Zom-B series. It sees us at the halfway point and really anything could happen....and probably will!

I really enjoyed the events in this story and as usual Mr Darren Shan never fails to bring the awesome! He is developing B so beautifully and I read some things I never thought I'd stumble across....even in a Shan book!

This story sees B fitting rather nicely into Angel life again after her solo mission in the last book. The only problem is that B won't get too close to the other Angels in fear of loosing more people. I loved seeing this vulnerable side to the normally snarky B.

Things rapidly go downhill when a blast from the past shows up and kidnaps her! She is taken on board a ship where very dangerous members of 'The Board' eagerly await her arrival. They want her for their own twisted sense of entertainment....as a gladiator!

B wouldn't normally play by anyone else's rules but the disgusting Dan-Dan forces her hand when he threatens the lives of the human children, that are being held captive on board the ship. So she kills and fights like a trooper, but she couldn't possibly hope to last long against hoards of the undead!

The introduction of Dan-Dan is a stoke of genius! Just when you think no more villains could possibly come crawling out of the woodwork, along he comes and rivals Mr Dowling in a whole different brand of evil!

Zom-B Gladiator is an action packed and kick ass instalment. It sees us introduced to a whole range of new and very twisted characters. B is going from strength and really I just can't wait to see what exciting adventures she will bring us on next!

3.5 / 5 Stars!

Cuckoo Song by Frances Hardinge - Blog Tour!

Summary from Goodreads The first things to shift were the doll's eyes, the beautiful grey-green glass eyes. Slowly they swivelled, until their gaze was resting on Triss's face. Then the tiny mouth moved, opened to speak. 'What are you doing here?' It was uttered in tones of outrage and surprise, and in a voice as cold and musical as the clinking of cups. 'Who do you think you are? This is my family.' When Triss wakes up after an accident, she knows that something is very wrong. She is insatiably hungry; her sister seems scared of her and her parents whisper behind closed doors. She looks through her diary to try to remember, but the pages have been ripped out.
