Twisted Perfection by Abbi Glines‏

Summary from Goodreads

My future was about to be completely thrown off track because Della Sloane was under my skin, and I had to have her. I couldn't ignore it anymore. . . . I'd gotten close enough to her to see deeper.

Della Sloane is not your average girl. Yearning to break free of her dark and sheltered past, Della plans a solo road trip to experience real life on her own terms. But the trip is nearly cut short in the little beach town of Rosemary when she realizes she can't even pump her own gas-until Woods Kerrington shows up, more than willing to help out a pretty girl in need.

Woods's family wants him to settle down with a wealthy woman in pearls, but he can't resist this carefree girl in cutoffs passing through town. A one-night stand should have been enough, but months later, Woods can't get the irresistible Della out of his head.

When a twist of fate brings Della back to Woods, all signs point to trouble if they don't keep their distance. Neither is truly free, and a relationship could destroy both of them. With their hearts on the line, Della thinks the safest bet is to walk away. But Woods isn't about to let that happen…

My Review

Oooh, Twisted Perfection is a sizzling, sexy and seductive read that grabs hold and just doesn't let up until the very last page.

This is my first Abbi Glines book and wow - I have been seriously missing out. Abbi is a sassy writer and I just had such fun getting wrapped up in her wonderful writing. I now know what all the Abbi Glines fuss is about!

The storyline is relatively light and very sexy - a steamy summer fling, but it also has a darker more complex side that makes the story so much more interesting. Della Slone is our main character and her past is dark and full of demons. She needs to escape and find herself, so she heads off traveling.

On her travels she happens upon the super sexy Woods Kerrington - who is more than willing to help out a damsel in distress! After a short, sweet but epic night together they part. Woods goes back to his life, a family business and a handpicked girl to marry but he still has Della stuck in his head.

The pair are forced back together by a stroke of fate. Della knows she should walk away, but is she strong enough?

I LOVED the sexual tension that filled nearly every page and Woods had me swooning and blushing at every encounter. I also loved the little flashback snippets into Della's life, I felt so much for her and her terrible past. She has a lot to overcome and face and we have (I think) only just seen the beginning.

Twisted Perfection is a kick-ass, utterly readable book that is filled with love and lust. I adored the romance and also the darker parts including Della's torchered past. The ending blew my socks off and I need more already....like NOW ;)

4/5 Stars

Cuckoo Song by Frances Hardinge - Blog Tour!

Summary from Goodreads The first things to shift were the doll's eyes, the beautiful grey-green glass eyes. Slowly they swivelled, until their gaze was resting on Triss's face. Then the tiny mouth moved, opened to speak. 'What are you doing here?' It was uttered in tones of outrage and surprise, and in a voice as cold and musical as the clinking of cups. 'Who do you think you are? This is my family.' When Triss wakes up after an accident, she knows that something is very wrong. She is insatiably hungry; her sister seems scared of her and her parents whisper behind closed doors. She looks through her diary to try to remember, but the pages have been ripped out.
